Terms of use

In short: use ielts.coach for your own IELTS practice, keep your account to yourself, treat AI scores as estimates rather than official results, and remember a Test Pass is a one-time payment with no automatic renewal.

Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using ielts.coach (the "service"), operated by ielts.coach, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

ielts.coach is an online IELTS Academic preparation tool. It offers practice exercises, AI-generated content, AI marking of writing and speaking, vocabulary practice, mock tests and an AI coach. We may improve, change or remove features over time.

Your account

  • Give a valid email address and keep your password secret. You're responsible for activity on your account.
  • Accounts are personal: one learner per account, not to be shared.
  • You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough under your local law to agree to these terms (or have a parent's or guardian's permission).

Free trial and Test Passes

  • New accounts get a free trial of 14 days with daily limits. When the trial ends, a Test Pass is needed to continue using the app. Your progress is kept.
  • A Test Pass is a one-time payment for 4, 8 or 12 weeks of access. It does not renew automatically and is not a subscription.
  • Daily fair-use limits apply on every plan (currently up to 10 AI exercises per module per day on a Test Pass). Limits reset at midnight UTC and may change; we'll tell you about significant reductions.
  • Prices are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe.
  • For refund requests, contact support@ielts.coach. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer law.

AI content and scores

Exercises, feedback, band scores and coaching are produced with AI. They are designed to be useful and accurate, but they can contain mistakes. Band scores are estimates for practice and are not official IELTS results. We don't guarantee any particular result in the real IELTS test.

Acceptable use

  • Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break, overload, reverse-engineer or bypass limits and security.
  • Don't scrape, copy or resell the content, or use automated tools to access it.
  • Don't use the AI features to create harmful, illegal or abusive content, or to try to make the coach act outside IELTS preparation.
  • Don't submit content you don't have the right to use.

Your content and ours

You keep ownership of what you write or say. You give us permission to process it to provide the service, for example sending your essay to our AI provider for marking.

The service, its design and its content (including generated exercises, which may be reused for other learners) belong to ielts.coach or its licensors. You may use them for your own personal study.

Not affiliated with IELTS

IELTS is a registered trademark of the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge University Press & Assessment. ielts.coach is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by them.

Availability

We work to keep the service running, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or misuse the service; where reasonable, we'll explain why first. If we close the service entirely we'll give reasonable notice.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is", and ielts.coach is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on practice scores. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that can't be excluded by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator of ielts.coach is established, unless the law where you live gives you the right to rely on your local laws or courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you about significant changes in the app or by email. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.
